The success of the APX A1 Compact pistol led Beretta to offer an enhanced version called the APX A1 Compact Tactical in early 2024.
The Tactical version was built on the same frame and slide as the Compact but also featured the following enhancements:
The threaded barrel makes this pistol suppressor ready out of the box. The taller suppressor height sights are designed to all proper sight picture with a suppressor or red dot optic mounted.
From a gun holster perspective, the A1 Compact Tactical pistol seems to function well in an OWB or IWB holster (assuming that a suppressor is NOT mounted). While the threaded barrel means a slightly longer barrel, it doesn’t seem enough to push shooters away from carrying this pistol inside the waistband.
Being red dot ready out of the box means that some holsters for this specific APX A1 pistol family member will need to accommodate a red dot optic mounted on top of the slide. Having a red dot mounted is not an issue, as nearly every holster we carry for the APX A1 Tactical can be ordered to accommodate a mounted red dot or RMR optic.
Something else to note from a holster perspective: holsters made for this specific handgun must accommodate the taller suppressor height sights. This issue is one potential reason why a holster made for the standard APX A1 Compact pistol likely won’t fit one of the A1 Compact Tactical.
Here are some commonly asked questions that we see regarding holsters for the Beretta APX A1 Compact Tactical:
Nearly every gun holster model pictured below is available in a version to fit an APX A1 Compact Tactical with a mainstream light mounted. By mainstream light, we mean mainstream brands of tactical or weapon lights like Surefire, Streamlight, O-light, etc.
Any of the holsters displayed below can be ordered for that specific configuration with the 507 optic mounted, and the TLR-7a mounted.
Yes, and those holsters ca nbe seen here: Beretta APX A1 Compact holsters.
