Beretta APX Compact

The success of the Beretta APX full-size edition led Beretta to expand the APX family by introducing the Beretta APX Compact pistol series in 2018. The idea behind the APX Compact was to offer all the features of the APX pistol in a smaller package for concealed carry.

This version of the APX features a slide and barrel that is a little over ½” shorter than the APX full-size pistol mated to a slightly shorter grip/mag well. Because of the shorter grip length, the Compact model carries two fewer rounds compared to its full-size brother.

From an operational standpoint, the APX Compact pistols share the same operational controls found on all APX models. This control carryover is especially useful for law enforcement officers who carry the Full-size model on duty. They can transition to the smaller Compact version for off-duty carry and retain the same handgun functionality and control system.

Holsters for the APX Compact

The smaller size of the APX-C makes it easier to carry and conceal. In terms of concealing an APX Compact for CCW, inside the waistband holsters (IWB holsters) are the most popular option. Our top-selling IWB models include features like a body shield or sweat shield for added comfort and are leather form-fitted specifically to fit the APX Compact handgun. All the IWB holster models that we carry for the APX-C can be seen at the bottom of this page.

If IWB isn’t your preferred carry method, our next popular holster style is a belt holster, commonly called an outside the waistband (or OWB) holster. This style of holster rides on the belt outside the waist. They are typically positioned on the strong side but can also be worn as a cross draw holster. The belt holster style attaches to the belt using slots or loops in the holster. Any of the OWB holster models seen below are available to fit the APX Compact in 9mm or .40 caliber.

Some customers run a weapon light on the Compact and are looking for a Beretta APX Compact light bearing holster. Through MTR Custom, we offer holsters to fit the APX Compact with several popular weapon light models mounted.

During the summer of 2022, Beretta decided to discontinue the APX Compact series in favor of the newer APA A1 pistol series.

Here are some of the more common questions that we see related to holsters for the Beretta APX Compact handgun:

Will the APX Compact fit into a holster made for the full-size APX pistol?

The Compact model will fit into a holster made for the full-size APX, but there will be about ½” of extra space at the bottom of the holster.

Where are your APX Compact laser holsters? I have a Crimson Trace CMR-206 mounted on my Compact APX and am searching for a holster?

Most all the holsters displayed below can be ordered in a configuration to fit an APX Compact pistol with a laser mounted. The laser brands that are supported include Crimson Trace, Viridian, LaserMax, and Armalaser.

Do you carry an appendix IWB holster for the APX Compact 9mm?
