Canik Mete MC9

Introduced in early 2023, the Canik Mete MC9 is a micro compact version of the original Canik Mete pistol. The Mete line is currently Canik’s premier line of pistols. The MC9 is specifically designed for concealed carry, and Canik reported that they spent three years working on the design.

This pistol is Canik’s first entry into the micro compact market, so the MC9 is designed to compete with popular CCW handguns, like the Sig P365, Glock 43X, and Springfield Hellcat.

Chambered in 9mm, the MC9 comes equipped with two magazines, a standard 12+1 version and an extended magazine model with a 15+1 capacity. Like all the Mete pistols, the MC9 is a polymer frame striker-fired design.

The pistol has an overall length of 5.1 inches and measures 1.12 inches wide. All the MC9 models are also optic ready and are built on the Shield RMSc footprint.

All the MC9 models currently ship with an entry-level OWB/IWB kydex holster in the pistol case. If you are interested in a different holster option for your Canik MC9, then we may be able to help.

Holster Options

Since the MC9 is geared towards concealed carry, our top-selling holster models are inside the waistband (IWB), followed by outside the waistband (OWB) models. Our two best sellers for the MC9 are the MTR Custom Adversary IWB and the MTR Adversary Tuckable IWB. Both can be seen below.

From an OWB holster standpoint, our top-selling leather models are the MTR Custom Slimline Deluxe Fullsize model and the MTR Custom Small Belt Slide model.

Canik mete mc9 holster with light

Almost all the holsters listed below are available in versions to fit a Mete MC9 with a light mounted as long as MTR Custom has a mold of the specific light brand and model mounted on the pistol. Common pistol light brands they support include Streamlight, Surefire, Olight, and Crimson Trace. In addition, new light brands and models are being added continuously.

If you decide to order a holster for a handgun with a weapon light mounted, be aware that the basic holster configuration will feature an open bottom design. However, the holster completely covers the light. If you want additional protection for the light in the holster, consider adding the “Closed Bottom” option.

Holsters for a Canik Mete MC9 with an optic mounted

Nearly all the leather holsters displayed below are also available in a version to fit the MC9 with a red dot optic mounted on the slide. You’ll need to add the “Add RMR cutaway for RMR or red dot optic” to include this option. With this option, a space is built into the holster to accommodate the red dot when the pistol is holstered.

FAQS

Here are some commonly asked questions that we’ve seen regarding holster options for the Mete MC9 micro compact pistol:

I have a Mete MC9 with a Streamlight TLR-7 mounted and a red dot mounted. Do you offer a holster to fit that set-up?

A complete answer is a two-parter:

Of all the holster brands we carry, only the MTR Custom offers options to fit a combination of most mainstream weapon lights with a mounted red dot optic.

  • The light brand and model will play a role in answering the question, as we need to have the specific light on the pistol on hand to use in the holster molding process. So, we may have issues being able to fit for an off-brand weapon light. If the weapon light is listed in the “Lights or Lasers” drop-down box on the page for each MTR holster, we offer a holster to fit that light.
  • With red dot or RMR optics, MTR does offer a cutaway option that will fit 99% of the red dot optics on the market.

Will a Canik MC9 pistol fit into a holster made for the Canik TP9 Elite SC?

Unfortunately, the MC9 and TP9 Elite SC are different sizes and dimensions, so an MC9 model will not fit into a TP9 Elite SC handgun holster.

All the gun holsters displayed below are available in versions to fit the Canik Mete MC9 handgun.
