Introduced to the market in September of 2021, the Canik Mete SFT Pro is like the older big brother to the original Mete SFT model. The Pro version features a longer 5” barrel (versus the 4.46” barrel on the standard Mete SFT) and slightly higher capacity magazines.
In addition, the Mete SFT Pro model also features a ½ x 28 threaded barrel, an upgraded trigger, and slightly larger dimensions compared to the standard Mete SFT handgun. The differences in size also mean that the Pro version weighs almost 6 ounces more than the original SFT model. However, some shooters prefer the heavier weight of the Pro model as it helps reduce felt recoil.
The operational controls on the SFT Pro are identical to those on the standard SFT. Still, the SFT Pro version also comes with a few more included accessories, such as two optics plates (versus the single plate on the standard SFT) and a Canik tool kit to service the pistol. Because this pistol is optic ready and suppressor ready, it’s equipped with taller suppressor sights.
In addition to being longer than the standard SFT pistol, the SFT Pro model is also slightly wider. The ½ x 28 threaded barrel is designed to accommodate a suppressor or other muzzle device, such as a compensator.
