Product Description
The popularity of the standard Don Hume H715M W/C clip-on IWB model, coupled with customer requests, led Don Hume to create the H715M WCS model. This model is identical to the standard clip-on IWB, except that it also features an added body shield. The bodyshield is designed to help to protect the gun from moisture and provide a barrier between you and the rough edges of the pistol.
If you aren't familiar with a bodyshield, here's some pics showing the difference between the basic H715M W/C and the H715M WCS with a bodyshield:
RH Black H715M W/C for a Glock 20 | RH Black H715M WCS with Bodyshield for a Glock 19 |
Manufactured to fit both semi-auto and revolver pistols, the H715M WCS holster is made of lightweight 6-7 ounce leather and form molded specifically to the weapon that it is made for. This holster is available in Don Hume's saddle brown or black leather with a black oxide clip.
The top opening of the H715M-WCS holster has a reinforced leather band around the holster mouth to aid in reholstering. The clip is designed for optimum retention so that the holster stays in place during the draw, yet is easy to put on and take off.
Like the standard H715M W/C model, this design works very well worn strong side, or just behind the hip.
How to tell if they holster model you are interested in is in stock: On the dropdown menu out beside each holster, there will be a notification if the holster is in stock or out of stock. In stock holsters will be marked as "In Stock" and out of stock holsters will be marked as "Preorder: 30 to 90 day ETA".
Some commonly asked questions related to the H715M WCS model:
I saw the handgun I carry listed on the regular H715M W/C model but I don't see it listed on the model with the bodyshield?
Hume doesn't make the WCS model (with bodyshield) for the all the models listed on the non-bodyshield version. Currently, the WCS model is only made for the holsters listed on the drop down menu above.
What's the advantage of having a bodyshield?
The bodyshield option is ideal for shooters who don't want the weapon actually coming into contact with their bare skin or want any of the sharper edges making contact to the body. It's really a matter of preference as some people prefer the non-bodyshield version.
Is a bodyshield the same as a sweatguard?
Yes, sweat guard is another commonly used term meaning a bodyshield. Other common names are sweatshield, bodyguard, and body protector shield.
I've heard that black leather seems to conceal better?
Given that this model is designed for concealed carry, the color doesn't seem as important as it might be in an OWB holster. If you're wearing it right, then you'll be the only person that knows what color it is.
Does this model come in any configurations to fit a gun with a laser or light attached to it?
Unfortunately, it doesn't at this time. If you are looking for an IWB holster that will do that, try the MTR Custom Adversary IWB holster.
Does this holster or any of the other Don Hume IWB holsters ride any higher or lower in the waist than another?
No, Don Hume mounts the clip on the same spot for each holster no matter what the model, so they all ride at nearly the exact same height in the waist.
Aside from the bodyshield, are there any other differences between this model and the Hume H715M W/C model?
No, the only difference is the bodyshield. Everything else is exactly the same.

I can function normally wearing this holster.
Takes a little getting used to having something in the middle of my back. Did learn to avoid chair backs with horizontal bars. Good fit on my Kahr 40 Elite

Good bang for ur buck
The only reason I didn't give this a 5 is that its a little a little hard to reholster. The leather at where the Trigger guard is gets soft and catches .. That's it! Other wise carries very well.

The only IWB holster brand I buy
I have lots of these Don Hume holsters, and are my go to holster whenever I step foot outside home. They are made of the best materials and well worth the money when compared to other holsters that cost three-times as much. Since I bought a Glock 19 Gen 4 I had to buy a Don Hume IWB with bodyshield for those hot Summer humid days. It carried very concealed and confortable. Will buy again as always. Thanks again Gunner's Alley.

Its tight, but great!
I purchased a Glock 23 gen 4 and wanted a solid concealment holster. I've had great success with ordering from Gunner in the past so I started my search. What I ended up with is just what the doctor ordered. The holster is snug but that is to be expected until it is broke in. The concealment features are excellent. You cannot print this weapon and holster which is the whole premise of concealment. I strongly recommend this holster and I've always had great success when ordering from Gunner. Go get it!

Great Holster
I've had several other Hume holsters and I have come to expect the quality. This holster did not let me down. Fit the gun great and already breaking in very nicely.

Still he best I've found for appendix carry!!
This is my second holster of this model. My first has been used with a custom Browning Hi-Power for some years now. I do not carry concealed on a regular basis but I normally always carry a weapon (usually the Hi-Power) with me when I travel. It is in the console or in discrete case where it is handy. I can relatively easily slip this holster into my waistband (pistol in it) while seated behind the wheel if needed. My most recent purchase was a WCS model for a S&W M&P Shield. I would have rated it at 5 but because of the geometry of the trigger guard on the Shield it is/was very difficult to get in and out of the holster. It will require more break-in than my first but with some energy and patience I will make it happen.

Great little holster
I have several of these Don Hume holsters, and are my go to holster for the quick trip to the store or just running around town. They are well made, and well worth the money when compared to other holsters that cost twice as much.
