Product Description
The Don Hume H721 (or "Double Nine") is made with a metal reinforced thumb break with recessed snap and double stitched sew lines at stress areas. This pancake style holster features two belt slots for easy positioning on the belt line, as well as a fully covered trigger. The H721 has a slight forward cant, rides very close to the body without riding too high. It offers a very good balance of concealment, security, and comfort. It is available in Black or Saddle Brown and fits belts up to 1 3/4".
For all single action weapons, this holster is designed so the thumb break works with cocked & locked carry (hammer back). This holster model is NOT available in a version for hammer down carry for a single action weapon.
How to tell if they holster model you are interested in is in stock: On the dropdown menu out beside each holster, there will be a notification if the holster is in stock or out of stock. In stock holsters will be marked as "In Stock" and out of stock holsters will be marked as "Preorder: 30 to 90 day ETA".
Some commonly asked questions about this model:
#1 - I like the style, but is this model available without a thumb break?
Yes, Don Hume offers this same model without a thumb break, and it's called the H721-OT (Open Top). You can read more about the OT model by following this link.
#2 - Does this holster ride at a 15 degree forward cant?
Not exactly. Don Hume doesn't provide an actual degree measurement of the cant, but it's slightly less than 15 degrees. We'd estimate it's closer to a 10 degree cant. Rumor has it that Don Hume himself wasn't a huge fan of holsters with an "aggressive" forward cant.
#3 - I was looking at the Open Top Model (H721-OT) and saw my weapon listed, but I don't see it available in this Thumb Break model?
Don Hume does offer the open top model to fit more handgun models than the thumb break model. With the TB model, they basically focus on the more popular handgun models.
#4 - I have a 1911 handgun. Does the thumb break work for Cocked & Locked (Hammer back) carry?
Yes. At this time, Don Hume makes all their thumb break models for 1911 handguns in a cocked & locked carry position only. They no longer make any of the thumb break models holsters for 1911 pistols in a hammer down carry position.
#5 - I really like this holster but don't see a model available for my handgun. Can Don Hume make one for my handgun?
Sorry, but Don Hume doesn't do any custom work. If the weapon you are trying to fit for isn't listed, then Don Hume isn't making for it.
#6 - Is this model made to fit any handguns fitted with after market lasers or tactical lights?
Sorry, but this model isn't produced to fit any handguns fitted with either of those accessories. We suggest that you try MTR Holsters for that option as they do offer a number of holsters that are made to be carried with certain laser or tactical lights attached to the handgun. Check out their holsters here.

The Very Best and Reasonably Priced
I have been utilizing Don Hume Holsters exclusively for my various carry guns for the past 10 years. Having carried since 1969, I have had many holsters from various companies. My son has also become a Don Hume Holster fan.

Very Good Holster - Don Hume H721 Holster
I've purchased several Don Hume H721 Holsters. They fit well, wear well and are durable. Good value for the price. There was a short-lived peeling problem with the surface coating applied to the black holters, but, they have addressed that issue. Also, there is not a ridiculously stubborn break-in period...good, snug fit right from the moment received.

Just a really nice solid holster
Bought one a few years ago for XD-40 SC so I knew what I was getting. Just bought this one for a Glock 19. Really satisfied with the fit/finish and how it holds the Glock up high and tight. At 3 to 4 O'Clock the Glock vanishes under a shirt. Super value as well.

Good Craftsmanship
I have several holsters that I use for hunting, but bought this holster for conceal carry. It fits my HK .45 acp compact perfectly down to the dimples. I love the color and it is very comfortable to wear. It carries tight against the body and the height is perfect for me. I can wear this in a vehicle very comfortably. I am 195 weight with a 32 waist and it conceals well with a sweater or light jacket. Great craftsmanship! It took a few weeks to get it from time of order to delivery, but it was worth the wait.

The Best OWB Holster For Me!
I bought this holster several years ago for my Browning Hi Power because it was one of the few holsters with a thumb break that would allow me to carry in Condition 1 (cocked and locked). That holster has performed flawlessly. Based on my past experience, when I bought a Ruger SR9, I purchased the same holster. My only complaint is that I had to wait more than 3 months for delivery, but I knew this before I ordered. This holster has also been great. Quality, fit and finish are excellent. It rides fairly low on my belt and is very comfortable to wear all day. If I purchase another handgun and the Don Hume H721 is available to fit it I will definitely buy this holster again.

Don Hume Holsters finish issues
I have purchased four Don Hume Pancake style holsters for my 1911 pistols. The fit is perfect but all but one has had issues with the pretty finish flaking off. I find this unacceptable and I do not understand what the problem is. The last one that I sent back was not repaired, it was replaced. I must compliment Don Hume for their prompt handling of the issue, but why is it an issue? Gunner's Alley reply: The finish issue only recently began to show up on occasional models in the black leather only. Don Hume was made aware of the the issue, and believe that they have corrected the problem.
