Product Description
Over the last 10 years, the Don Hume JIT slide has been their top selling holster model. The JIT (which stands for Just In Time) Slide is designed to carry medium sized to small revolvers and autos in a highly concealed manner. This holster has an open bottom so it can fit handguns from the same family regardless of the barrel length. For example, the model for the Glock 19 also fits the Glock 26.
One of the reasons for its popularity is the belt slot design. Instead of having belt slots in the front and rear of the holster, the JIT Slide has a belt slot directly behind the holster and then a second trailing belt slot on the back of the holster. The combination of the center belt loop and trailing belt slot pulls the weapon close to the body, while still allowing for a full firing grip. The design makes for a stable carrying platform that takes up much less space on the belt as compared to similar pancake style designs.
The JIT is available in Black or Saddle Brown.
How to tell if they holster model you are interested in is in stock: On the dropdown menu out beside each holster, there will be a notification if the holster is in stock or out of stock. In stock holsters will be marked as "In Stock" and out of stock holsters will be marked as "Preorder: 30 to 90 day ETA".
Some commonly asked questions about the JIT slide holster:
#1 - As this holster has an open bottom, how far will the gun stick out the bottom of the holster?
The answer to that question depends on the specific handgun that is being carried. Obviously, the longer the pistol dimensions, the more will stick out the bottom of the holster. As a basic reference, a Glock 26 will stick out the bottom of the holster about half an inch, while a larger Glock 19 model sticks out the bottom about an inch and a half. A Colt Government 1911 5" will stick out the bottom about 3 inches.
#2 - Does this model ride at any type of forward cant?
No, the JIT Slide rides at a 0 cant (straight up and down) on the waist.
#3 - Since the holster is small and doesn't have a thumb break, I'm worried that it won't retain the pistol well?
Even though the JIT doesn't have any external retention devices (thumb break, retention screw, etc.), the design does an excellent job of retaining the holster. The retention is centered on the friction created when the handgun is fully seated in the holster. To be honest, this model is one of Don Hume's top sellers in terms of popularity due to the design and price point.
#4 - Will this holster work with pistols that feature a Crimson Trace laser grip?
To be honest, it really depends on the handgun model. Most of the pistols with CT laser grips will fit in this holster, but occasionally there are a few models that won't. We'd really have to get more info on the handgun model and then we might be able to tell from experience.

don hume belt slide
I bought my first Don Hume belt slide long ago. these two I just recd. are every bit as good if not better. I can't tell I am wearing a full size auto. My old ones are in good condition and I don't anticipate having to replace them.

Superior Holster for a Reasonable Price
Just received my 3rd Don Hume JIT Slide Holster. As In my previous review these are the best holsters for concealed carry. Don Hume Holsters are made from the best quality leather and are custom fit to the firearms they are designed for. They fit close to your body so your firearm doesn't print under your clothes. If you're looking for high quality concealment Holster, I highly recommend these holsters!

The Don Hume JIT Belt Slide Holster
This is my second Don Hume JIT Belt Slide Holster This one is for a Kahr PM9. The reason I give it a 5 star rating is primarily due to what I consider as being the best value I'd found for what I wanted. This is an economy quality holster, cost-wise, and quality-wise. Now, I'm not snubbing the quality at all; this is a minimalist concealed-carry vertical-draw design. The leather isn't as thick as some might want, but I want thinner leather for it's concealment virtue. One time I bought a CCW belt holster from a quality maker, and discovered the thickness of the leather alone honestly added a 1/2" to the pistol riding on the belt. If it had been a duty weapon-no matter. But I wanted concealment, not a bigger bump. So, just for dimension sake, I want thinner leather. But not kydex- that will break since it's stiff, not as flexible as leather and won't last for years like leather. I own several kydex holsters and I know of this issue-but I value their dimensional quality. Really thin. Finally the design- the belt slide is again quite good for concealment- minimal overall size and weight. -next best thing to just tucked in your belt, but with a covered and protected trigger. It carries a smaller pistol quite securely, but quickly accessible You can almost forget you've got a gun there (but Don't!). Did I mention the weight factor. This holster design cuts that down, too. The less weight, the better. For me, it's worth repeating. Light. Overall, this holster is just an outstanding value for what it does...

Best Holster for Concealed Carry
This is the second Don Hume JIT Slide Holster I own. The first was purchased for my Sig P238 and this one is for my Sig P938. Don Hume holsters are made with top grade leather are are molded to fit pistols like a glove. What I really like about the JIT Slide is the versatility of wearing it on the strong hand side or the option of wearing it on the opposite side as a cross draw holster is how I wear it when driving as it provides easy accessibility in the seated position. These are quality holsters and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high grade concealed carry holster at a reasonable price. You won't regret it.

A great holster and great service
I bought this holster for my S&W Chiefs Special. I did some research before hand and it was highly recommended for OWB/CCW. This is my first Don Hume holster and my first purchase from Gunners Alley. The holster hugs close to my body and does not print. G.A. was easy to work with and I had my holster three days after placing my order.
