    • Glock 26

    The Glock 26, often referred to as a "Baby Glock," is a subcompact 9mm pistol designed for concealed carry. Introduced in 1995, it has become a popular choice for civilian and law enforcement due to its compact size and reliability. The sucess of the Glock 26 played a direct role in the development of the other Glock pistols in the Baby Glock series, including the Glock 27 and Glock 33.

    Key features of the Glock 26 include:

    Compact size
    With a barrel length of 3.43 inches and an overall length of 6.50 inches, the Glock 26 is significantly smaller than its next closest 9mm Glock cousin, the Glock 19. The smaller size makes the G26 easier to conceal.

    Magazine capacity
    The standard magazine holds 10 rounds but can accept larger magazines from other Glock 9mm models like the Glock 19 or Glock 17. In terms of magazine capacity, a G26 can accept and use 12, 15, 17, and even 33-round Glock 9mm magazines. The only Glock 9mm magazine that a G26 cannot utilize is a magazine from a Glock 43 or 43x.

    Reliability
    Like other Glock models, the G26 is known for its dependability and ability to function in various conditions.

    Familiar ergonomics
    The grip width, overall feel, and operational controls are similar to larger Glock models, making it comfortable for those accustomed to full-size Glocks.

    Versatility
    It can serve as a primary concealed carry weapon or as a backup gun for those who carry larger Glocks.

    The Glock 26 has gone through several generational improvements, including the following:

    • Gen 3: The original version introduced in 1995.
    • Gen 4: Added features like interchangeable backstraps and a dual recoil spring assembly.
    • Gen 5: Introduced in 2018, featuring over 20 design changes from the Gen 4, including removing finger grooves and adding a flared magwell.

    Shooting characteristics:

    • Recoil - Despite its small size, the G26 is generally considered manageable in terms of recoil, though it may be snappier than larger Glock models.
    • Accuracy - Many users report good accuracy for a subcompact pistol, with some even using it successfully in competitive shooting.
    • Grip - The short grip can be challenging for those with larger hands, but many find it controllable. Some users add magazine extensions for a full grip.
    • Concealment - Its small size allows for various carry options, including inside-the-waistband, ankle, and pocket carry.
    • Customization options are plentiful, with aftermarket sights, triggers, and magazine extensions being popular upgrades.

    Glock 26 Holster With a Light

    Since the 26 is not equipped with a light rail (to date), most all pistol lights or weapon lights must be mounted to the Glock 26 using a trigger guard based mounting system.

    Of that style of pistol light, the Streamlight TLR-6 is the most popular weapon light for a G26 (although a few other light brands offer a light compatible with a G26).
