The success of the standard Glock 48 pistol led Glock to introduce the Glock 48 MOS handgun in July of 2019. This pistol is built on the standard G48 frame but offers two new features to the 48 series:
The Glock Slimline MOS system features a factory slide cut designed to fit specific micro-optic red dot or RMR optics. However, this Slimline version of the MOS system differs from the standard Glock MOS system in a couple of ways. First, the Slimline MOS system will only accommodate smaller-sized optics because the rail itself is smaller than most factory light rails. Second, pistols equipped with the Slimline MOS platform do not include optic adapter plates. Instead, those plates have to be purchased separately from Glock.
The Glock Mounting Rail Slim series is a proprietary Glock rail explicitly designed for the Glock Slimline series of pistols (currently the Glock 43X MOS and Glock 48 MOS). This rail allows certain lights or lasers to be mounted under the frame in front of the trigger guard. Note that this is a proprietary rail, so it won’t fit a light or laser built to worth with a standard Picatinny rail.
Holster options for the Glock 48 MOS will be dependent on the addition of a red dot or RMR optic. If a red dot or RMR optic is mounted, then you’ll need a holster made to accommodate the Glock 48 with an optic mounted. Most holsters made for a G48 without an optic mounted will NOT fit a G48 with an optic mounted.
The most popular holster type for the Glock 48 MOS pistol appears to be inside the waistband holsters (commonly called IWB holsters).
As mentioned before, as a buyer, you have to break down the IWB holster options for the G48 MOS down into holsters made for the G48 MOS with and without an optic mounted.
Our top-selling holsters for a Glock 48 MOS without an optic or laser, or light mounted include the following models:
All the holsters referenced above can be found below.
For a Glock 48 MOS with a light, laser, or optic mounted, our top-selling holsters include only the MTR Custom line of holsters as they can support a G48 with most lasers, tactical lights, or red dot optic mounted. They can also support a holster made to fit a G48 with a red dot and light mounted on the pistol.
Our top-selling IWB holsters for the G48 MOS with a red dot optic mounted include:
Like the IWB holster options for the 48 model, the OWB holster options also depend on the G48 having an optic mounted or not.
For those running a G48 MOS without an optic, our most popular sellers are:
If you’re running a Glock 48 MOS with a red dot optic mounted, then our top-selling OWB holsters for that set-up are these:
With the holsters made to fit a G48 MOS with an optic mounted, MTR Custom offers an option to have an optic cut-out done on the holster. This cut-out is a space in the holster where the actual optic rides when the handgun is holstered.
Note that all the holster models referenced above can be seen below in more detail.
Here are some frequently asked questions that we see regarding holsters for the Glock 48 MOS pistol:
Unfortunately, the MOS model doesn’t fit well in a holster made for a standard Glock 48, especially if the MOS version has an optic mounted. However, even a G48 MOS pistol without an optic mounted doesn’t fit into a holster made for the Glock 48 due to the proprietary rail on the 48 MOS pistol.
The holsters made for the standard Glock 48 can be found here: Glock 48 holster options.
We offer leather holsters to fit a G48 MOS with a light and red dot mounted; however, it depends on the specific make and model of the light. Any holster listed below can be built to fit that specific G48 version with most mainstream weapon lights and red dot optics mounted.
Any of the holster models displayed below are available in a configuration to fit a Glock 40 MOS, including a G48 MOS equipped with a weapon light, red dot optic, or one equipped with both accessories.
