Product Description
The MTR Custom Back Pocket holster is designed to be carried in the back pocket of the desired shooting hand. So a RH model would be designed to be worn in the right rear back pocket while a LH model would be designed to be worn in the left side rear back pocket. Also, the draw using this holster is done so the plam is facing in towards the small of the back.
This model features a back pad that attaches to the holster via 2 screws. The pad breaks up the outline of weapon so it appears to be a wallet. The pad is hinged so it bends away from the holster during the draw to allow for a full firing grip. If desired, the back pad can be removed and the holster can be worn in the front pocket.
Although available for small revolvers as well, this model works best with small semi-automatic handguns due to their small width.
Some commonly asked questions about this holster model:
I don’t see my weapon listed in the dropdown menu. Does this mean it’s not available for it?
While this list is constantly being updated as new gun models come available, we try to list only the weapon models that seem to work for back pocket carry. While this model is available for some other gun models, not all perform well when carried in this manner. Feel free to contact us with any questions about fits for different weapons.
In the test above you make a reference about this back pocket model not working well for revolvers? Can you expand on that reasoning?
The cylinder on revolvers makes them wider than most small semi-automatics (especially single stack models). As such, revolvers tend to be in the large side this type of carry, which leads to issues during the draw and issues for concealability. Someone standing in line behind you at the grocery store would have no trouble seeing a revolver being carried this way versus a small semi-automatic looks more like a wallet. It’s just an opinion based on experience so your own mileage may vary.
So based on your experience, what weapons work well in a back pocket scenario?
Well, we put our heads together and came up with what we think are the most popular weapons that work well for back pocket carry. Keep in mind, this is just an opinion based on experience and a number of years in this business. In no particular order:
- Kahr P380
- Beretta Pico
- Beretta Tomcat
- Ruger LCP or LCP II
Obviously, your own mileage may vary and we encourage you to experiment to see what works well for you.

Awesome Pocket Holster, Good Value, and Great Customer Service!
Received a well made, perfect fitting holster, much faster than promised. They forgot to charge me extra for the laser version of the holster and volunteered to waive that fee since the website didn't properly apply it. I've been getting pocket holsters elsewhere for the last decade but will use these guys from now on. Very happy.
