Product Description
MTR Custom Cross Draw Holster
There are certain situations where a cross draw holster may be the best option for carry, and MTR Custom has designed their Cross Draw holster to fulfill that need.
A major challenge in designing an effective cross draw holster focuses on the draw angle. Make the angle too shallow on the belt and gun will barely stay in. Make the cant angle too deep the other way and the handgun becomes more difficult to draw. After testing a series of angles, coupled with user feedback, MTR has come up with what they feel is the “optimal” draw angle for a cross draw rig.
This model offers a body shield to help protect the user from the sharper edges of the weapon along with a reinforced holster mouth for easy one handed reholstering.
The holster mounts to the belt using 2 belt slots designed for a belt up to 1 ¾” wide and features a belt channel for added stability. The MTR Cross Draw is manufactured from top grade 6 to 7 ounce bull hide leather with all the materials coming from the USA. The finishing touch on this model is a boned in finish to ensure a secure and snug fit for the weapon.
Often cross draw holster are often called driving holsters as they are very popular in situations where a significant amount of time is spent behind the wheel of a vehicle. If you are in the market for a high quality cross draw holster, have a look at the MTR model.
Some frequently asked questions about this holster model:
#1 - Do you what angle this holster rides at?
To be honest, I don't as I don't think MTR ever specifically identified a numerical angle (like the 15 degree forward cant) for this holster. I think they based the angle on testing, customer feedback, and 3rd party evaluations. The end result may not have a specific angle (or negative angle) associated with it, but it works extremely well just the same.
#2 - Will MTR do any other belt loop sizes other than 1 3/4"? I really prefer mine to be 1.5"?
Understood, but not at this time. It could be a possiblity later on.
#3 - It looks as though this holster is "boned"? is that right?
Yes, most all the MTR models have a certain degree of boning. If you aren't familiar, the term "boning" refers to the process of using a tool to outline specific parts of the pistol into the leather. It gets it's name as early holster makers used tools made out of bone to make these impressions in the leather. It does seem to make for a better overall fit as compared to a non-boned model.

Springfield XD: Nice fit.
Optionally, I did get double stitching and a thumb break, and it's molded to accept a TLR-6 light. The only thing I that's a bit of a bother is the bottom of the holster (I think because of the light) that pokes me in the thigh pretty good. Other than that it's fine. I do like the high ride. See my post on the matching magazine holder and belt, which may not be quite so gracious.

Phenomenal craftsmanship and great customer service!
I couldn't be happier with my new cross draw holster. It was exactly what I was looking for. My pistol is held tightly to my body even with my beer gut. I had to call and email a couple of times to ask questions and had nothing but the best customer service demonstrated to me. I would buy from this company again!

My First
This was the first MTR I bought and I have bought 4 others since. Needless to say I think highly of the products. The craftsmanship and quality is the best I’ve seen.

Nice Holster but won't fit 1 3/4 inch belt
The holster is a very well made product. Looks nice too. The only problem is that it will not fit a 1 3/4 inch belt without an extreme amount of difficulty.. A 1 5/8 inch belt is about the maximum width that can be reasonably used with this holster. That is a bit of a shame for me as I have a very nice 1 3/4 inch wide custom belt that I really wanted to use with this holster. So...make sure your belt will work before you order this holster.

Great Holster
Love my new cross draw holster. My Walther PPS M2 fits nice and snug. Great retention and easy to draw standing or sitting. Only downside was that it took about 71/2 weeks.

Simply The Best
I've purchased several crossdraw holsters from other companies, but MTR is by far and away the best of the entire lot. Here is what I like about the MTR holster: 1. Construction, materials and craftsmanship. Compared to the holsters I've purchased from others, MTR is truly unique. It is difficult to describe unless you actually see it, hold it, feel it and glove your pistol in it. It is light, conforms to your body and the muzzle does not dip below your beltline. It fits snuggly against your body and with a loose fitting shirt, does not print your weapon. 2. The leather is very high grade and by some process I am not familiar with they mold it into a work of art that does not lose its shape. It has a beautiful lustre and stitching is impeccable. 3. It is obvious to me that MTR has honed their craftsmanship to an extremely high degree, but again I must add, you must actually see it to fully appreciate it.
