Product Description
MTR Custom Single IWB Clip-on Magazine Carrier
The MTR Custom clip-on IWB single mag carrier is designed for situations when you need to carry an extra mag in a concealed manner. Like their popular MTR Adversary Clip-on IWB holster, this carrier features a bodyshield to protect the wearer from the sharp edges of the mag. The clip itself is powder coated black for long life, and will fit any belt up to 1 3/4" wide. the clip design can also be carried in the shirt tucked position as well.
Please note that the MTR Leather single magazine carrier is designed to be shooting hand specific as they utilize the best practice of a weak-side bullet forward draw. For example, a RH shooter would choose the RH option as the magazine is designed to be worn on his/her left side with the bullets in the magazine facing inward. This allows the magazine to be drawn with the left hand (weak hand) for an up and over type of magazine change. Although it may sound confusing, it really isn’t. A RH shooter would choose a RH option while a LH shooter would choose a LH option.
Here are some of the commonly asked questions that we see regarding this clip-on IWB single mag carrier:
#1 – What's the advantage of this IWB mag carrier compared to a standard belt slot model?
This style carrier is really designed for deep concealement situations where you really need the ability to carry a spare magazine but it needs to be concealed at all times.
#2 - What's a bodyshield and why would I need one?
A bodyshield is a term used to describe a tab that sticks of past the top of the holster or mag carrier. It's designed to serve as a protective barrier between the body and sharp edges of the handgun or magazine. Most standard outside the waistband mag carrier models don't offer and eally don't need a bodyshield, but it can be helpful for an inside the waistband (IWB) mag carrier. Do you need one? That's really a matter of personal preference. Some customer's love the bodyshield, while others prefer to go without one. Maybe this picture well help show the differences:
Mag Carrier with a Bodyshield | Standard Mag Carrier Without one |
#3 – I’m still a little confused about this whole RH or LH thing with a mag carrier. Can you provide more of an explanation?
Sure, the most widely accepted way for a quick and efficient magazine change is to have the mag positioned on the weak side of the body with the bullets in the magazine facing inwards towards the belly button of the shooter. The idea behind that concept is when the magazine is drawn from the carrier, the shooter simple has to rotate the wrist upward and the mag is in a position that ready to be inserted into the firearm in the correct position to be accepted by the firearm.

very well made.
Hi quality leather and stitching. Red leather matches my Don Hume holster exactly (also from Gunners alley). IWB mag carrier rides well. Officers length (45 acp) size. I would purchase again.

Great mag holder, outstanding c/s from Brad at Gunner's Alley
Excellent compliment to my Don Hume/HK rig. Bravo Zulu to Brad for the great assistance.

Sturdy! And a reasonably priced mag holster.
I have gotten a couple mag holsters from Gunner's Alley and this newest one, with bodyshield is the best. It's well moulded, strong & the bodyshield shields the mag from sweat when I'm wearing a tee-shirt - which is most of the time. I would definitely recommend this mag holster as well as Gunner's Alley for great products as well as good, quick service.

OUTSTANDING!
I ordered the MTR Custom Single IWB Clip-on Magazine Carrier for my EDC 1911 but wanted to carry an extra clip. I needed a magazine carrier that I was "tuckable" due to my work and this was a perfect fit. I ordered the natural leather, it arrived within the time that was specified. The magazine fit perfect, excellent quality, and workmanship. I would recommend this to anyone needing an IWB carrier. I will be ordering additional carriers for other conceal carry weapons. Gary
