MTR Custom Vertical Deluxe Full Size Quick Snap Holster
When MTR Custom introduced the Deluxe Full Size Quick Snap holster, it was quite a success. However, a number of customers kept asking if that model could be done in a 0 or no cant version, instead of the forward cant found on the standard Deluxe Full Size Quicksnap.
MTR listened and has now introduced the MTR Custom Vertical Deluxe Full Size Quick Snap holster. This holster has all the same features and benefits of the original Deluxe Full-size Quicksnap, but rides at a straight up and down cant (also called a 0 cant or vertical cant).
This holster model is an excellent option for those for want the easy on/easy off capability coupled with a straight up and down cant. Like the original Deluxe Full-Size Quicksnap version, the Vertical model is also available with various exotic skins (Black Tigershark, black Elephant, Gray Elephant) for trim, or they can be used for the full holster.
This model features the following:
- An integrated bodyshield
- Reinforced holster mouth for easy one handed reholstering
- Dual snaps on each side that fit any belt up to 1 3/4" wide
The dual snaps are one directional military grade security snaps for added security and stability.
Some commonly asked questions about this holster model:
#1 - I'm not sure what you mean about a 0 or straight up cant? Can you provide a little more clarification?
Sure. The "cant" refers to the ride angle on the belt. This angle is typically either straight up and down (commonly called 0 cant, straight up cant) or a forward cant. This model rides at a straight up and down or vertical cant. Here's a a side by side picture that might help:

#2 - I see where you mention a forward cant model as well? Where can I find that holster and which "cant" performs better?
The forward cant model is the MTR Deluxe Full-Size Quicksnap model and it can be seen here: MTR Custom Deluxe Full-Size Quicksnap Holster.
To answer the which cant is better question: Honestly it really comes down to a personal preference. There are some who believe that the forward cant offers a faster or quicker presentation and then others who feel the vertical cant offers a faster presentation. If you have any mobility issues in the wrist or shoulder of your shooting hand, the vertical cant is probably a better option as it seems to put less stress on the wrist/shoulder area during the draw.
#3 - In the description above you mentioned something called "boning" what is that?
Boning refers to a process where specific details of the pistol are molded into the leather of the holster. Although it's more done for aesthetic (looks) reasons, a "boned" holster looks nicer and tends to fit a little better compared to a non-boned model.

Extremely Happy
Very well made. I got the dbl stitching option. Also the option for my Sreamlight TRL-8AG. Handgun fits snug but not too snug to hinder quick removal. Beautiful Dark Brown leather. Very happy with my purchase and worth the 4 week wait.

MTR Holster
This is the 4th or 5th holster I've ordered from Gunner's Alley and I was not disappointed. I carry a weapon with a light and laser on it and the 'stock' holster just wasn't to my liking. I knew MTR makes custom holsters from prior experience with other weapons I carry during different times of year and knew it would be a great product. Only thing I had to do was put the weapon in a storage bag (Ziploc) for a bit and the holster would form around the weapon for a snug fit but also proper space for comfortable extraction and reholstering. The snaps are great as sometimes I do travel to businesses or Government Bldgd where weapons are not allowed.

MTR Vertical
Very comfortable even when sitting. Hides a revolver superbly.

one nice holster--it will last a lifetime
The holster arrived flawless-color, stitching, fit and function. I chose the vertical (0 cant) because of a shoulder injury. The snaps make carrying versatile with different clothing options. The amount of boning retains my pistol secure without the need of bothersome retention strap. Options for laser and double stitching all perfect. Excellent holster.
