This Ruger pistol is equipped with several notable features:

Design and Ergonomics:

The Security-380 is designed for concealed carry and ease of use. It features a polymer frame with a glass-filled nylon construction, providing durability and weather resistance. The pistol has a width of 1.02 inches, a length of 6.52 inches, and a height of 4.35 inches, making it compact yet not overly small.

Capacity and Magazines:

One of the standout features is its high capacity for a .380 pistol. It comes with two magazines - a 15-round extended magazine and a 10-round compact magazine. This provides users with flexibility in terms of concealment and firepower.

Lite Rack System:

The Security-380 incorporates Ruger's Lite Rack system, which includes slide serrations, pronounced cocking ears, and a lightened recoil spring. This system makes the slide significantly easier to rack, benefiting users with reduced hand strength or arthritis.

Sights:

The pistol features a green fiber optic front sight and a drift-adjustable, black U-notch rear sight. This combination allows for quick target acquisition and improved visibility in various lighting conditions.

Trigger and Safety:

It utilizes Ruger's Secure Action fire-control system with a bladed safety trigger. The trigger pull is described as smooth and crisp, with a measured weight of about 4.5 pounds. The pistol also includes a manual thumb safety, though it's worth noting that this feature requires practice for quick engagement and disengagement.

Recoil Management:

Despite its compact size, the Security-380 is praised for its manageable recoil. The combination of the Lite Rack system and the pistol's overall design contributes to reduced felt recoil, making it comfortable to shoot.

Additional Features:

  • Accessory rail for mounting lights or lasers
  • Easy takedown process that doesn't require pulling the trigger
  • No magazine disconnect safety
  • Precision-machined aluminum chassis with full-length guide rails

Holsters for the Ruger Security 380 Pistol

As the Security 380 has proven to be a great seller for Ruger, there is no shortage of holsters for this Ruger handgun.

Our top-selling leather holsters for this handgun model are IWB and OWB options. Since the Security-380 is larger than some of Ruger's more compact models, like the LCP II and LCP Max, it doesn't seem to be a good choice for pocket carry.

Our most popular holster models for the Security-380 have been the MTR Custom Adversary IWB holster and the MTR Dual Carry holster (both can be seen in the available gun holsters below).

Ruger Security 380 Holster with Light

Since the Security-380 is equipped with an accessory rail, it's a candidate for a small weapon light. The most common pistol lights we see on this pistol are the Streamlight TLR-7 Sub or the O-Light Valkyrie Mini.

Any of the leather holster models pictured below can be ordered in a configuration to fit a Security-380 with one of the more popular weapon light brands, such as Streamlight or Olight.
