In 2020, Taurus decided to re-introduce a 5-shot revolver chambered in .380 ACP, calling it the Taurus 380 UL (for Ultra Light). Note that this is not Taurus’s first foray into the world of .380 revolvers, as they had previously offered a 5-shot 380 called the Taurus M380 back in the early 2000s. The newer 380 UL seems to be a much-improved variant of that line.
The Taurus 380 revolver is a double-action-only model designed with a flush-fitting hammer. It cannot be fired in the single action position. Since the .380 ACP is a rimless caliber, the Taurus 380 UL is built to utilize and accept moon clips.
The UL designation means that the 380 UL is part of the Taurus Ultra-Line line, which utilizes alloy revolver frames. The alloy frame and short 1.75” barrel have this wheel gun weighing just under 16 ounces unloaded.
With an overall length of 5.95 inches and a width of 1.40 inches, this 380 revolver is smaller than most snub-nose revolvers like the S&W J frames and the Ruger LCR. Its smaller size and reduced recoil make it an excellent option for concealed carry or personal self-defense.

Leather inside the waistband holsters tend to be more comfortable than their Kydex counterparts, as leather molds to the body slightly better.
