Introduced in 2003, the Taurus Model 905 is a 5 shot revolver chambered in 9mm instead of the more traditional .38 Special or .357 Magnum calibers. Since 9mm cartridges are rimless (designed for semi-automatic pistols), the 905 uses moon clips to secure the ammunition, allowing for reliable loading and extraction in the revolver's cylinder.

Currently, the 905 is offered with a 2" barrel and a 3" barrel. Both versions feature a full underlug to protect the ejector rod.
The 905 2" is the more compact of the series, so it's the more popular option for concealed carry and self defense.
The 905 works well carried IWB (inside the waistband), OWB (outside the waistband on the belt), on the ankle in an ankle holster, or carried in a pocket via a pocket holster.
